How It Works

Luxury Asset Trader is an online trading house for swapping assets. Like other sites, we allow people to post their assets for sale, but we strongly encourage people to trade their assets. Consider the endless possibilities of trading items with high depreciation such as cars and boats. Instead of waiting months for someone to buy your item, or selling it back to a dealer at reduced price, you can simply trade it at its full market value. We also have a way for you to swap more appreciable items like real estate and businesses. Now more than ever, with the collapse of the housing market and a stagnant economy, trading real estate is a creative alternative to get people where they want to be.

How it works is simple. You start by creating a free account and posting your assets. Unlike the buyer/seller websites where a seller has to wait for a buyer to make an offer, you can be proactive and contact other members who have assets that match your interest. If a match is made, then its completely between you and the other party to come to an agreement and make the swap. You could go the safe and formal route through legal representation or use less formal means such as simply transferring the title with a notary. If you do make the swap, we have a created a way for you to do a 'virtual' swap online so your asset gets transferred to the member and vice versa. This way if you ever swap the asset again, you already have the information!

Please exercise caution! Like other websites, we are open to the public and do not do background checks to verify people actually own what they post. We are simply a service to help you get rid of what you don't want and find what you do want. Please exercise caution when meeting with the other party and be aware of the common dangers that come with selling/swapping any items whether its through your local newspaper or on this website.

About Luxury Asset Trader. Luxury Asset Trader was launched in May of 2008 by Jack Schoch. Jack spent a lot of time searching the internet for his next toy, and then, when he finally found one, he'd have to sell a possession (or two) to raise the cash to buy it. One day while waiting for his boat to sell, Jack started a company with an online presence that would help other like-minded individuals find each other and swap assets. We just hope to never see ourselves listed under Businesses!
